- Correctly mount to machinery and pay attention to shaft runout and belt tension. · Use significant amounts of water. It greatly impacts the sharpness and tool life. Water supply shortage or lack of water can result in tip seizing, and cause the tip to fly off. · When cutting along a curve, cut fully and then cut once again rather than gouging. Prying at the machine while cutting may cause cutting chips to fly out. · Do not cut into the subbase material beneath the pavement. Cutting roadbed material shortens operating life. · Use a coarse grindstone for dressing when clogging occurs.
