When fitted to a panel jack or in-line adapter, this dustproof cap prevents dust and contaminants from entering the mating part when the plug is not connected and prevents accidental contact of the plug with live parts when it is not connected.

When soldering, dismantle the connector as shown in the picture on the right.Connector can be dismantled simply by loosening the screws on the sides.
