Locating Units
Positioning unit parts are parts used to correct or align mold die positions. They include parts enabling easy positioning of workpieces in the form of thin plates such as by preventing backflow of pallets on a transport line, positioning buckets in transport equipment, preventing falls of transported items or preventing backflow of transport units. They also include parts used to secure the covers of jigs or items with mechanisms for single-action mounting of bar-shaped parts, and parts used to lock openings. Other parts in this category include fasteners that are used instead of bolts and enable tool-free single-action attachment mounting/removal or jig replacement during equipment setup changes. Since they can be easily fastened, they can be fastened to a uniform tightness and eliminate variations in fastening strength. Some parts enable single-action switching between clamping and unclamping, and show at a glance whether they are fastened from the orientation of the knob.

Positioning units are used to precisely position the workpiece carrier after stopping. When the positioning cylinder is extended, the workpiece carrier is centered with suitable locating pins and thus exactly positioned. Typically, the workpiece carrier is lifted by the positioning slightly from the conveyor belt and above pressed against a fixed stop. Thus, the workpiece carrier no longer rests on the conveyor belt and processes on the work piece can occur without vibration. The positioning units are supplied without accessories and have a receiving bore for the insertion of suitable locating pin. Return stops are used in low-friction transfer systems (eg with accumulation roller chain). They prevent rebounding of the workpiece carrier from the separator in the stopping process. Rebounding the workpiece carriers leads to complications in the control of the workpiece carriers since the workpiece carrier is temporarily not at the presumed position. In addition, rebounding has a negative effect on the cycle time, and the components of the transfer system are more strongly loaded by the multiple impact of the workpiece carrier on the separator. Retrun stops may not be used to stop the workpiece carriers in the conveying direction.
