MISUMI offers locating pins for your individual requirements with various configuration options. In contrast to application-specific in-house production, our locating pins represent an economic alternative for you.

You receive the following from MISUMI:

  • A selection from a product range with pre-set head diameters, standard lengths and pin diameters
  • Free choice of head diameter with pre-set head and pin lengths and pin diameters
  • Freely configurable head diameter and length and pin length

We would especially like to recommend our DLC-coated locating pins which have up to ten times less wear than the uncoated products.

DLC surface coating

The special feature of the MISUMI locating pins is the DLC (diamond-like carbon) surface coating. This type of coating is particularly suitable for automotive welding, as the standard locating pins made from steel would stick to the aluminium of the vehicle chassis and would, therefore, be subject to significantly greater wear.

The DLC coating is characterised by:

  • Extreme hardness
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Low friction coefficient
  • Chemical resistance and biocompatibility

The MISUMI locating pins for automotive welding allow you to benefit from the following surface properties:

  • Very good adhesive strength
  • Surface Hardness: ~ 3000 HV
  • Surface colour: Rainbow
  • Layer thickness: ~ 0.2-1.0 micron
  • Friction (steel): 0.15 - 2.0

The service life of DLC-coated locating pins from MISUMI amounts to more than 20,000 cycles in automotive welding compared to a steel pin which has to be replaced after approx. 2,000 cycles. Save time and money in future with locating pins from MISUMI!
