The specifications and application of belt conveyors are manifold. For this reason, many different versions are needed to meet these individual tasks. Different sizes, types and belt drives are available from MISUMI, which can be configured for individual solutions.

Drives

Three different drives for belt conveyors are available:

  1. Head Drive: With this drive, the non-driven end roller serves as a tension roller. This makes the head drive quite efficient for the belt conveyor. It is also cost-effective because of the low amount of components.
  2. Centre Drive: With this flexible drive, the belt tension in the middle drive section can be adjusted. The overall length is not changed by the adjustment of the tension. The drive section can be easily moved within the setting.
  3. Inside Drive: With this space-saving solution, the drive is located between the frames.

The belt conveyor drives are equipped with induction or variable speed engines; of course, belt conveyors without motors are also available.

Corner dimensions A: 60mm, 70mm, 80mm and 90mm

Power outputs: 6 W; 15 W; 25 W; 40 W; 60 W and 90 W

Conveying speeds: Depending on type 14.4 m / min. to 72.2 m / min.

Lifetime: 10,000 hrs: typically 5 years (8 h/day, 5days /week constant load) under normal operating conditions (increased load, pollution, abrasion or heat may affect these values!)

Performance, dimensions of belt types

The power range moves in a range of 6-90 W, depending on the engine and drive type.

Types of belts for conveyor belts

Belt types include elastomer belts, steel belts and timing belts, which can be used single track (lane) and double track (two lanes).

  1. Coated belt conveyor-belt for ordinary operations (H & W) with a smooth surface:
Back: polyester / Front: polyurethane layer (approximate thickness: 0.9 mm) / Continuous working temperature: -10°C / +80°C / Coefficient of friction conveyor side (front): 0.2
  2. Impregnated belt conveyor belt (G & S) with fabric surface:
Back: polyester / Front: polyurethane impregnated (approximate thickness: 0.6 mm) / Continuous working temperature: -10°C / +80°C / Coefficient of friction conveyor side (front): 0.1/0.15
  3. Waxed belt conveyor-belt (N) with a very smooth surface:
Back: polyester / Front: polyurethane layer (approximate thickness: 0.85 mm) / Continuous working temperature: -10°C / +80°C / Coefficient of friction conveyor side (front): 0.2
  4. Conductive belt conveyor-belt (D) with a smooth surface:
Back: polyester / Front: conductive polyurethane layer (approximate thickness: 0.65 mm) / Continuous working temperature: -10°C / +80°C / Coefficient of friction conveyor side (front): 0.2
  5. Belt conveyor-belt for easy cleaning (F) with super smooth surface:
Back: polyester / Front: polyurethane layer (approximate thickness: 0.75 mm) / Continuous working temperature: -10°C / + 80°C / Coefficient of friction conveyor side (front): 0.2
  6. Belt conveyor belt oil-resistant (O) with a smooth surface:
Back: Polyester / Front: Cr layer (approximate thickness: 1 mm) / Continuous working temperature: +5°C / +60°C / Coefficient of friction conveyor side (front): 0.3

Suitability of various belt conveyor types

  • Space-saving:
These belt conveyors are ideal for automated conveyors. In addition to standard versions, short and narrow versions are available for special applications. Even full-belt versions can be used.
  • Two tracks:
These belt conveyors are ideal for conveyors, for sensor detection between belts and reliable pallet conveyance. Versions with synchronous belts and plastic chains are also available.

Complementary parts for conveyor belts

Recommended accessories for belt conveyors include reliable stands with feet in different designs. In addition, guide rails and transfer rollers are available. Many variations exist for each belt conveyor:

  • Stands in I shape and H shape
  • Conveyor belt brackets, also in L shape
  • Guide rails in Z shape, Y shape and in straight type

Characteristics of belt conveyors

  • Single Track
  • Quiet transport
  • Transportation of general cargo
  • Complement roller conveyors
  • Can be easily combined with other production techniques
  • Fully integrated belt bed
  • Belt return function
  • Long conveyor versions feature support rollers on the return side
  • Low maintenance
  • Version with belt routing available with protective wedge
  • Versions with knife edge are available

Characteristics of chain conveyor

  • Two-track
  • Drive is form-fitting and slip-free
  • For transport of heavy loads
  • Chains are guided and can be tightened
  • Chain strands are driven via a drive shaft from the engine and thus provide synchronous operation

Characteristics of toothed belt conveyors

  • Two-track
  • Drive is form-fitting and slip-free
  • For transport of bulky parts
  • Timing belts are guided and can be tightened
  • Toothed belts are driven via a drive shaft from the engine and thus provide synchronous operation
