It is advised that MISUMI shafts (Standard g6, f8 and h5) are used in combination with the MISUMI shaft supports. In the slit type version, a slit is machined before drilling the attachment hole D with a tolerance of H7. This enables the tolerance to be H8 depending on the machining process.
Ratio between the interior diameter (dimension D) and overall length of the guide (dimensions L, T) Properties: The specifications of the standard version are L,•T=ca. Dx1.3 or lower version with long sleeve/The specification of the wide version is L,•T=ca. Dx1.3 to 2.0. The versions with the long sleeve and larger width provide higher rigidity because the shaft clamping range is greater. L=Dx2.0 or larger can be ordered under ‘steel rods’.
Manufacturing method of pillow blocks/shaft supports
MISUMI shaft supports are available as machined and precision cast products.
Precision cast products are available at lower prices than machined products. Precision cast shaft supports exhibit slight shape distortions and a grainy surface, but they are made to the exact dimensions stated in the catalogue.
Pillow block/shaft support positioning and repeatability
The flange bearing holder of the pillow block/shaft support is fixed to the devices using cylindrical pin drill holes and pressed onto the mounting plate with cylindrical pins.
Pillow block/shaft support flange bearing holders are pressed onto the mounting plate using cylindrical pins against the vertical surfaces of the housing.
Pillow block/shaft support flange bearing holders are fixed to the mounting plate using the housing pilot section and a precision drilled attachment hole (H7).
