teamtechnik is an international leader in innovative production technology, pioneering assembly and functional test systems. Founded in 1976, in Freiberg, Germany, teamtechnik serves the needs of numerous international companies in three industry sectors: Automotive, Medtech and Solar. Today, Teamtechnik employs approximately 900 people at 6 subsidiaries and 15 service locations worldwide.teamtechnik’s Polish subsidiary in Skawina near Krakow was founded in 2005. Today, the Skawina team consists of around 120 employees who are specialised in creating special-purpose machines for the automotive industry. The engineers focus on the development of highly flexible production solutions which can be combined with customer-specific applications. Amongst those solutions are camphasers, valves, transmissions and transmission mechatronics test systems.

In the production of machines, time is crucial to teamtechnik. The company produces many diverse machines, and each of those requires an individual approach and a different set of components.When the Polish subsidiary was founded in 2005, the engineers required a lot of time to find their desired components and were facing high procurement costs. teamtechnik sought for a way to reduce their time and efforts at the front end without compromising on the quality of their machines.At this point, teamtechnik received advice from their German Headquarters which recommended MISUMI as a one-stop-shop for components.

With MISUMI’s support, teamtechnik was able to decrease its search and waiting times for components and could significantly lower its costs. “Working with MISUMI is fast and easy due to their large product variety and short lead times,” notes Bogumił Tkaczyk, Head of Purchasing. “For a lot of components, MISUMI has become a reliable one- stop-shop supplier to us. This takes a great load off our team and enables us to focus on continuous research and development” .

He adds that despite all lead times being short, the especially short lead times of standard items are an enormous win: “We order many standard items, which have a maximum delivery time of 3 days to Poland. This has helped us to reduce our search and waiting times by at least 50%.”
