Angle plates
At the MISUMI one-stop shop
Angle plates are one of the connecting elements in machine construction. An angle connection is a simple and very stable screw or welded connection.
Aside from a large selection of fastenings, materials and surface treatments, angle plates at MISUMI can also be produced according to customer requirements. You can configure the parameters and adapt them to your application:
At least two components are used for an angle connection with an angle plate. The two components are attached either with screws (DIN screws) and lock washers or a weld seam. The lock washer prevents the screw connection from becoming detached when subject to a dynamic load. The positioning of the angle and the components in relation to each other can optionally be secured with dowel pins which enables precise positioning.
Rib angles are a special form of angle plates. Rib angles, also referred to as angle brackets, can absorb high loads through the rib. They are used to connect heavy parts and for structures that are exposed to high static loads.
Angle plates and rib angles are very cost-effective, reliable parts which have no wear and therefore have a long service life. Due to their simple mounting and dismantling properties, angle plates are very popular in body-in-white production and other industries and are therefore used in many devices.
Rib angles are made from cast iron, cast aluminum, stainless steel and steel. Depending on the intended use and place of operation, the surface may be burnished, varnished or nickel-plated.
Angle plates can also be used in body-in-white production due to their ease of use and stability. The selectable hole distance and tailored hole configuration enables them to be adapted flexibly to the structure.
Angle plates/rib angles (angle brackets) combined with aluminum extrusions and adjuster pads can form a stand, e.g. for a buffer storage station. The screw connection that is easy to loosen allows for tolerance compensation that balances out the unevenness in the floor and ensure the station is positioned securely.
The components, in this case a B-pillar plate, are positioned in the component receptacles provided with the buffer drawer in an open state. The components are positioned precisely and fixed using guide brackets (NAAMS) and contour blocks/NC blocks (NAAMS). The reliable and interference-free manner of receiving the components protects them from being deformed and damaged. Sensors record the load status and the correct position of the components. The manual closing of the drawer is intercepted by dampers in order to prevent the components from shifting. A pneumatic tensioner locks the drawer in a closed state during the removal process until the sensor reports the emptying of the station. Only then does the pneumatic tensioner unlock. The drawer can then be opened again and the process can be started from scratch. Angle plates ensure the buffer drawer is positioned securely.
The cantilever shafts combined with rollers and mounting plates form the slides of a linear guide in a drawer which is part of a buffer storage compartment.
MISUMI cantilever shafts can be adjusted to customer requirements thanks to their configurability. If the bolt material has been chosen correctly so that it exceeds the hardness of the components to be connected, cantilever shafts have a very long service life if they do not require much maintenance work.

WSR-Positioning pins (Weld Spatter Resistant) are steel pins with an optimised surface and an aluminium chromium nitride (AlCrN) coating. They are extremely weld spatter and wear-resistant and ideally suited to the requirements of resistance welding on steel sheets in body-in-white construction. |
