Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the computer-to-computer exchange of business documents in a standard electronic format between business partners. EDI replaces postal mail, fax and email. The exchange of EDI documents is typically between two different companies, referred to as business or trading partners. EDI documents can flow straight through to the appropriate application on the receiver’s computer to ensure an end-to-end e-business process.
Open Catalog Interface (OCI) is one of the standard formats of ERP/Purchasing Systems when connecting to external punch-out catalogs. The OCI format is used to define the field mapping between the supplier‘s catalog and the SRM shopping cart, to ensure that the data is transferred accurately and completely between sender and receiver.
