Sprockets / chains (DIN 8188 compatible)

Mechanical engineers use chains for many purposes e.g. for power transmission or material transport. MISUMI offers a large range of different sprockets and chains.

Advantages of roller chains

  • High performance and high power transmission
  • Synchronous transmission (no slippage)
  • Use under critical conditions like shock, temperature, humid or corrosive environment possible
  • High reliability and high efficiency (98%)
  • Variability in speed ratios
  • Big shaft distance possible
  • Reducing and extending chain drive
  • No requirement of preload of the system (no static load)
  • No risk of fire

Sprockets – High Performance and High Reliability

In the field of conveyor technology, efficient and reliable sprockets and chains play an important role. Depending on the type of conveyance, different versions are needed. MISUMI offers a wide variety of sprockets and chains with configurable solutions for each variation.

Sprockets – Many configuration options

All sprockets can be configured according to the specifications of individual requirements. The pitch, number of teeth, shaft bore diameter and groove specifications can be defined in different versions. Even for small conveyors, MISUMI offers a variety of materials and finishes.

Roller chains

In addition to sprockets, many variations of roller chains are available. Various materials can be selected; the number of links is definable up to 1000000/2. The exact tension and other specifications (CAD data) can be found on the corresponding product pages. In addition, it is possible to specify joint links or offset links.

Flat conveyor chains

In the area of flat belts, MISUMI offers many variants:

  • Engineering plastic (e.g. polyacetal) block chains, in single-row and double-row, offer special chemical resistance and are generally used for conveying cans
  • Matching sprockets made of engineering plastics also available
  • Table top conveyor chains (e.g. for beverage bottles) are available in low friction polyacetal with corresponding rollers

Idler sprockets

Idler sprockets, e.g. with hub or single bearings, for tension adjustments are also available to match conventional sprockets.

Accessories for use of sprockets and roller chains

A wide selection of accessories is available for the use of sprockets and roller chains:

  • Idler pins in steel and stainless steel
  • Chain guides in many lengths and strengths: steel or plastic, raised track and standard channel
  • Chain tensioners with optional turnbuckle

CAD data available

All specifications (CAD data) of sprockets, roller chains and other components can be reviewed on the corresponding product pages.
